Project Overviewx

Southern Taiwan – AI & Semiconductors

TSMC is building a massive semiconductor manufacturing hub in Southern Taiwan. This project involves constructing five wafer factories on a 175-hectare site, formerly occupied by China Petroleum & Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. The first three factories will specialize in producing advanced second-nanometer chips, while the remaining two will focus on even more cutting-edge sub-nanometer technologies. This significant investment of approximately NT$4 trillion will create over 10,000 high-tech engineering jobs and generate additional opportunities throughout the semiconductor supply chain, potentially leading to 45,000 new jobs in total. The establishment of this advanced manufacturing cluster will accelerate the growth of Taiwan’s AI industry and contribute to a new wave of economic prosperity for the nation.

Complementary Win -Win Growth

  • The Northern Luzon is in a prestigious position to develop hydrogen, AI & semiconductor industries by leveraging its abundant solar wind & biomass renewable energies.
  • The AI and semiconductor fabs in Southern Taiwan urgently need green power (deliver by submarine power cable) and green hydrogen (delivered by liquid carrier vessel) from Northern Luzon.
  • The goal is to establish and grow Northern Luzon’s trillions scale green energy、 AI & semiconductor industries.
  • The AI-based 3C green energy industry in southern Taiwan is in urgent need of a new generation of engineering talents. Northern Luzon can provide students to come to Taiwan to receive AI/3C green energy engineering training and become a talent supply center.
